Why is WhatWeGive doing this?

We're making fundraising easy. We want to provide a service that makes it as easy for people to contribute as it is to buy the latest bestseller.

How much of a donation actually goes to the fundraiser?

All of it. WhatWeGive does not even charge the organization for credit card processing. It's part of what we give.

Is WhatWeGive getting paid to do this?

WhatWeGive does not retain any percentage for flat donations and we pay for the secure payment processing so the organizations get 100% of the donation. It's part of what we give.

How do you report the amount of donations made to each organization?

WhatWeGive provides an online reporting function to each organization. They can access their accounts anytime, anywhere by using their unique login information.

Will WhatWeGive transfer information about me?

WhatWeGive, Inc. respects and will zealously guard your confidentiality, protect your privacy and ensure your security. No information about fundraising organizations, individual or group fundraisers, or customers is ever shared for any purpose unless subpoenaed by an authorized government organization. WhatWeGive is a completely secure site and maintains state-of-the-art security to protect your identity and the security. Your credit card and PayPal transactions are absolutely and completely confidential and secure.

How much may I contribute?

As much as you'd like.

When will my organization receive donation checks?

Payments are made by checks to organizations monthly for prior month's donations.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

That depends on the fundraiser to which you donate. In the United States, only 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations may classify donations as tax deductible. Your donation/purchase receipt will reflect if your donation is tax-deductible or not.
NOTE: Only the donation part of your purchase may qualify as tax-deductible, not the entire purchase amount. However, 100% of a direct donation may be tax-deductible (depending on the organization’s non-profit standing).

Is WhatWeGive non-profit?

WhatWeGive is for-profit. Let's face it. Haven't we all wanted to help others while making a living? That's the goal of WhatWeGive. The key to doing this is tiny profit margins so that we can still provide a majority of the proceeds to your fundraiser.

How much profit does WhatWeGive make on each purchase?
